Let this *take* marinate for a minute.
Golf needs a Pat McAfee. What Pat has done for ESPN, College Gameday, and the broadcast product of NCAA College Football is nothing short of a revolution that was needed very badly. College football had become such a predictable broadcast “product” – not necessarily the games and athletes, but they way they were presented at us and to us. Stale and staid. Not interesting. Predictable. Bordering on unwatchable.
What McAfee has done for football is bringing the zip, zim, and viger to the presentation of College Football – before, during and after the games.
Let’s talk about golf now. Sure, LIV has thrown its hat in the ring to bring some of the above to our lovable, but stale and staid sport. Let’s put LIV to the side for just a minute though because even in a combined state the golf presentation through insightful commentary and audience engagement, in a word, SUCKS.
Golf has great and iconic voices calling the shots which leaves so much elbow room for spectacular color commentary. Imagine a Charles Barkley and Kevin Kisner duo supporting our iconic lead men? The banter, the silliness, the raw analysis and insight about every player, every course and every shot. Sign me up.
Kis – come out of the shoot hot my brother for all us golf fans who are pleading for no more napping during broadcasts.
