There is so much speculation out there right now about John Rahm prepping to announce a jump from the PGA Tour to LIV it’s hurting my eyeballs. Having said that, the old axiom is likely spot on in this case: there is so much smoke the fire must be massive. I hate to add fuel to it, but at this point it might be better to burn the ting down. Right?
The thing that keeps my head whirring like an overheating Mac laptop is – what will the eventual PGA + Saudi negotiation net out for a merged entity? Or will the deal fall apart? Or, will a third party swoop in to make it all better, or worse?
Either way, if and when Rahmbo jumps to LIV he stands to gain inordinate wealth (purportedly in the range of $600M all in). I mean who wouldn’t jump at that? And frankly, the little I’ve watched of LIV on the CW suggests the tournaments have the spirit and tone of my buddy Porter’s annual PGP Scramble tournament on a Denver city public muni with Pink Whitney clickers for mulligans in Novemebr evey year versus my Dad’s country club Member / Guest.
